City NewsEveryone is invited to this months community potluck, Thursday, the 22nd, from 6-8pm. The potluck will be a barabeque held at the Senior Center at 123 Barlow Street and will include music and hip hop dancing. The potluck is sponsored by the faith community and we encourage you to bring a dish to share. Hope to see you there!

Rants and RavesTo continue on with my rant and rave. My wife is staying at the Old Woolen Mill so I wanted to go up for Fathers Day and her birthday and because my childern and grand children were going to be there. I drove into the parking lot, got my two puppies out and started into the building when some miss important person confronted me and informed me no dogs were allowed in the building, which started an argument, because I had, in the space of 5 minutes seen two people with two dogs enter the building...

Rants and RavesI have been a Vermont resident for over 60 years, traveled all over Vermont, and have always found the people to be warm and friendly,that is until I visited Winooski.

My wife is a travel nurse and works second shift at Fletcher Allen Hospital. I erased most of what I had written, because you wont allow me any more words to continue.

Rants and RavesHow can Champlain Water District (CWD) claim chloramine, the new disinfectant made from ammonia and chlorine and put into our drinking water on 4/10/06, is perfectly safe for consumption and bathing in when no studies have been done on the dermal and respiratory effects of chloramine at levels used in drinking water, and when the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) says cancer studies are inadequate to assess whether chloramine causes cancer or not? It is irresponsible of CWD to make that claim, especially with so many symptoms being reported.

Tuesday, 7/18 @ 1 p.m.--Tom Joyce, Magician. All ages. An amazing, humorous magic show.

Tuesday, 8/1 @ 11 a.m.--VT LakeMonsters. Ages 5-10. Meet the baseball players and listen to sports stories. Bring your ball and mitt for an autograph!

Thursday, 8/10 @ 4:30 p.m.--Traveling Storyteller. Ages 3-11. A fairytale story, puppet show and art activity.
